A woman sings to the winds, acknowledging their power and the role they play in helping life thrive. The wind provides paths through the sky for butterflies, spiders and birds (indicated by the flight feathers of the albatross, eagle and red kite). It carries the seeds and pollen of plants, allowing them to communicate and travel.
I wanted to evoke the movement of the wind as well as it's many voices: the shimmering rustle of quaking aspen leaves, the dry rattle of papery seed pods, the skittering of dead leaves swirling in the breeze, the random, resonant clinking of the bamboo wind chimes and the breathy moan of the flute.

Cristina McAllister is a self-taught artist and writer inspired by Nature. She's worked in a wide variety of mediums, restlessly exploring the world and creating art to express the journey. She currently lives in a beautiful forest with her husband and a menagerie of cats and wild critters, delving into the secrets and sacredness of Life on Earth.
